I started this blog as means to communicate my work and offer it for sale. I received my BA from Angelo State University in 1996 and my MFA from the University of North Texas in 2000. It was while at UNT and focusing primarily on printmaking/intaglio that I became aware of the aesthetic beauty that small works can have on a viewer. Applying the same intimacy that is held by a print and using a diary approach to painting has produced a whole new view towards my own paintings. It allows me the opportunity to study what I see more closely.
You will find most of my work is primarily still life, but I occassionally will do a landscape. You can view past works at my online gallery, danielbirdsong.com . So, there you have it. Now back to the easel.

This is a painting? I thought it was a photograph at first. I absolutely love this.
